I purchased this half-size Protégé for my 7-year old's guitar lessons. He will grow into it, and I enjoy playing it, too. I chose Córdoba based on a recommendation from a friend, and I'm spreading the word. Don't forget the Deluxe gig bag.

bought 2 for my kids and not disappointed...wood grain looks smooth and nice...sounds great...its a half size BUT the string spacing is slightly smaller than a regular, so my big hands still can fret easily...which is a plus when I want to borrow from my kids :)

I decided to buy my 6 year old son his first real guitar. I did some homework and found that the Cordoba Protege C1M sounded like a good choice for a first guitar. I live about 40 mins from Sweetwater but had never checked them out. I went online and found that they had the Cordoba's available in different sizes and in-stock. I ended up working with a young man named Lance. He help… read more us find the right size guitar and set us up with everything else we needed. Lance did a really great job! I would highly recommend you ask for him if you are in the market for a new guitar. In regards to the guitar, I am very happy with the workmanship and sound of the Cordoba. The Cordoba's also allow the action to be adjusted which I really liked for my son as he progresses. I will be buying another one next year for my younger son when he turns six. I may even pick one up for myself.
