Love those Epiphones
Excellent beginner to intermediate guitar. I bought it just to have a guitar handy, and am very pleased.
Very Nice Decent Sounding Guitar
This guitar is very nice. I would estimate the box depth at about that of a 000 guitar. It will need a setup, most all these inexpensive guitars have a very high string action height from the manufacturer. I replaced the tuners almost immediately, they are very cheaply made and because of them the guitar didn't hold tune well. So do or get a good setup done, replace the tuners and… read more you'll have a very nice guitar. My first Epiphone, but I would buy again.
Flawless
Received my Epiphone Starling today from Sweetwater. I unboxed the guitar and checked it over carefully. I could't find one thing wrong with the guitar from its wine finish to its finished frets. I placed it in tune and played for about an hour. It stayed in tune the entire time. Unusual with new original strings mounted on a guitar. They usually have to stretch. The sound is very… read more good but don't expect the sound to be as good as a super expensive guitar. It never will be that good. That said, the Epiphone Starling is a beginner guitar that even very experienced players will find delight in playing. I recommend this guitar with two thumbs up.
"I'll have a starling shall be taught to speak." -- Shakespeare
I'm teaching my Starling to speak and enjoying every minute. This is a good looking instrument that stays in tune and is easy to play. Well worth the money.
Cory on
I have had this guitar for a couple days and already can't keep my mind off of playing it! The ONLY thing beginner about this guitar is the price! Sure you might get a few fit n finish issues, but for under $... its near impossible not to have any. This thing sounds great, really deep and full sound, beautiful craftsmanship, great quality, and even the fit n finish is exceptional!… read more I would have given it 5 stars however, I can't say for sure if it is the best but I can say it WILL hold its own any day of the week and twice on Sunday!! Thanks again Sweetwater and Mitch Dazey for such GREAT service!!
